Warmer Weather (Playlist)

Do you ever start listening to a song and think that it's so good that it deserves to be on a playlist? That's what happened when I was listening to Us the Duo on shuffle and Look Up at the Sky came on. I also just reread The Lunar Chronicles and that song reminded me of some of the characters in the series. So I created a playlist with that song in mind. This song also made me think about how nice the weather has been and what I like to listen to on a perfect day. Here's the songs I picked for the playlist...

Summer Tunes (Pt. 2)

Last summer I made a playlist for all of my favorite summery songs. So many of my favorite artists have released new music lately, and I also discovered new songs that I thought it would be fun to make a second playlist of songs. So here are the songs that I have been listening to lately. - Jessica

Holiday Snapshots

1. Reedit from this year's Trail of Lights post.

2-5. Decorating the tree! My family actually got a live tree this year and it's so much more exciting than having our old plastic tree out.

And not pictured is the sheer amount of Christmas music I have listened to, especially Pentatonix's Christmas music since they have a new holiday album. As a result I added a couple of my favorite tracks to the holiday playlist I made last year.

Have a merry Christmas! - Jessica

Rainy Days (Playlist)

It's has been raining pretty much nonstop here in Texas. I don't mind the rain but it's been raining so much that I had to make a playlist to get me in the mood for this weather. So here's a collection of songs that I like to listen to while it's raining, curled up with a good book:

I am the type of person who usually likes to listen to slower, quieter songs while raining, because I think that the sound of the rain enhances the music. I know some people like to blast their music while it's raining and drown out the sounds, but I'm pretty much the opposite (but Fall Out Boy's Jet Pack Blues falls in between that spectrum).  - Jessica

Summer Playlist

I've been out of school for a couple of weeks now and it's incredibly hot outside Honestly summer for me right now is seeking refuge from the heat by staying indoors and reading and listening to music. So here are some of the songs that remind me of summer, and these are songs that I love to scream the lyrics to while driving.

Spring Playlist

Spring is probably my favorite season. This year we had a disappointing winter but I will forgive mother nature because this spring has already been so nice. As someone who has grown up in Texas, I know it's officially Spring when bluebonnets and other wildflowers start popping up off the highways. This year I saw my first bluebonnets while walking to class last month and it was a nice thing to see so early in the year. So here's my playlist of songs that transfer from the winter season to warmer weathers:

It's Beginning to Sound a Lot Like Christmas

Thanksgiving has come and gone and now it's officially time to listen to Christmas songs! I've been listening to a little bit of Christmas music since after Halloween, but now I'm ready to go all out. I've always loved Christmas music but for the past two years I've been obsessed with Pentatonix's versions, and I've been waiting practically all year to be able to listen to them again. In preparation I got the deluxe edition and the vinyl of That's Christmas To Me (even though I already own the standard edition... I know I have a Pentatonix obsession). I'm honestly so excited for this season and I put together a playlist of some of my favorite Christmas songs which you can listen to here or down below. - Jessica

I originally made the Gryffindor playlist to listen to for myself, but I had so much fun making it that I decided to do the rest of the houses. Playlist: Autumn

I'm one of those people who loves when the temperature drops and I get to drink hot drinks and bundle up when I go outside. Since it's officially fall, I put together some of my favorite songs that I feel capture the season. Even though it's still 90 degrees outside here in Texas, I figured it would help me get into the spirit mentally until mid October when the temperature will actually drop.

1. Of Monsters and Men - I Of The Storm // 2. Mumford and Sons - Awake My Soul // 3. The Lumineers - Stubborn Love // 4. Paramore - In The Mourning // 5. San Fermin - Sonsick // 6. Tori Kelly - Funny // 7. Pentatonix - Standing By // 8. Taylor Swift - State Of Grace // 9. Ed Sheeran - One // 10. Lights - Where The Fence Is Low (Acoustic) // 11. Oscar Isaac - Fare Thee Well

Playlist: Lumos

I've had a rough time lately dealing with finals and the overall stress of life, so I made this playlist of songs that made me feel calm. I always name my playlist after spells from the Harry Potter books, and I choose the illumination spell because I personally feel a sense of calmness while listening to it, similar to turning on the lights.
Listen | Tracks:
  1. Lights - Portal
  2. Ed Sheeran - Tenerife Sea
  3. Pentatonix - Run To You
  4. Mumford and Sons - Not With Haste
  5. Freelance Whales - Red Star
  6. Walk the Moon - Iscariot
  7. Bastille - Oblivion
  8. Boy - July
  9. Coldplay - Strawberry Swing
  10. Of Monsters and Men - Sloom
