Trail of Lights 2018

Here's some shots from the Trail of Lights this year. I've blogged about the Trail several times over the years, because it's my favorite Christmas tradition in Austin. I really loved going this year because they added several new exhibits and it was my niece's first time going.

Trail of Lights (2016)

My absolute favorite holiday event in Austin is the Trail of Lights. I've been going since I was a kid and every year I love to blog my shots from the Trail. So here are some of the shots I got this year...

Trail of Lights 2015

Going to the Trail of Lights every year has been my favorite Christmas tradition since I was a child, and every year I love to share my experience on here. Texas has had an extremely warm winter this year, and going to the trail in just a long sleeve shirt was really weird because I'm so used to bundling up and carrying hot chocolate the whole way through. Even though the weather was really warm, it was so easy to get into the Christmas spirit with all of the lights and carols playing. This year there were several changes to the trail, that I think really enhanced this year's experience. Here are my favorite shots I took this year:

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays! It's currently past midnight on Christmas day and even though I have to be up in a few short hours I wanted to share some photos I took this year at the Trail of Lights.

Merry Christmas

There are just a few more minutes until it's Christmas for me and here is my last Christmas post of this year. Overall, this year didn't feel as festive as the past, the weather is a bit warm and I didn't listen to Christmas songs or play them on my ukulele as much as last year. But this year things were a little different, I didn't procrastinate in my Christmas shopping this year and I feel like I took significantly more pictures this holiday season than last year. I got to visit the Trail of Lights one more time before it closed this year and earlier today my siblings and I attempted to make a gingerbread (sadly it died and we just decorated the front), which I think made up for this holiday season feeling so different. The above picture was edited with the app, Studio.

Trail of Lights

Last year I briefly blogged about the Trail of Lights, it's one of my favorite Christmas traditions. This year I went a little overboard with the bokeh photos, don't blame because the results are magical. During the trail, I alternated between singing Christmas songs and the Frozen soundtrack. I haven't been able to stop listening to the soundtrack (particularly "Do You Want to Build a Snowman"), which resulted in my sister buying a copy. Hopefully I can make another trip out before it closes on Sunday!(The text on the above photo was added in the app Over.)

happy holidays!

Hello internet! I'm finally free from school for this semester. It's been a really busy year and I haven't been blogging nearly as much as I wish I would. So here is a little blog post to get you in the holiday spirit. I personally love the holidays, dressing up in warm sweaters, singing Christmas tunes with my ukulele, and always hoping for snow.

Last weekend I went and saw my friend preform in the Nutcracker as Clara! After the show I went kind of crazy with the Christmas decorations.

I was so excited that they brought the Trail of Lights back this year after a two year hiatus. Naturally I had to go on opening day and here is a few cliche, bokeh and slow exposure, pictures from the trail, because you can't help but stand under a Christmas tree of lights and now spin around.

Yesterday I went ice skating with one of my friends since we didn't have to go to school - the perks of being a senior. It was the first time I've been ice skating in about 4 years and I had a blast. I even sung "White Christmas" while doing so, wink-wink if you understand that reference. I already want to go ice skating again.
