Snow Day

It snowed in Austin for the first time in almost 4 years, earlier this month. Usually when it snows in Austin, it happens over night, but this time there were actual snow flurries falling down from the sky in the middle of the day. Unfortunately I didn't get to go outside and play while it was snowing, because I was working (booo!) but I did spend a good chunk of time crying on my way home, because everything looked so pretty. All of these pictures are from the next day, unfortunately all the snow was melting, but I still got some good shots.

And as usual, I had to take a lot of corgi shots. Fawkes and McCoy really liked playing in the snow, but they were not in the mood to take pictures.

So it was really only like an inch of snow and it had melted by noon, but as someone who has lived their whole life in an area that rarely snows, I get really excited by just a little bit. - Jessica

McCoy and Hazel's Trip to the Lake

Last month my sisters and I took McCoy and Hazel to the dog part of Town Lake. The area is an off leash park and there's a spot for dogs to jump in the water and swim. We went before sunset on a Wednesday night and there was plenty of dogs for McCoy and Hazel to play with. This was the first time we took Hazel swimming and I think she enjoyed it. Although next time we'll probably get her a life jacket because her head was barely peeking out of the water. McCoy on the other hand absolutely hates the water and wouldn't go within three feet of the lake. I had previously shared a little bit about this in my August Snapshots post, but I wanted to share more photos from that day.

Although he wouldn't get in the water he had no trouble posing in front of it. McCoy isn't a huge fan of getting his photo taken so I was so happy that he wanted to sit and pose here.

Look at her face peeking out of the water!

More Bluebonnets

I've mentioned a few times on here that I have a  blog to share photos of my dogs. Usually most of the photos on there are taken with my family's phones, but every once in a while I do like to pull out my camera and take pictures of them. During bluebonnet season I try to take as many pictures as possible since it only last about a month and I felt that they would be really cool to share on the dog blog. I really like how these photos came out and getting McCoy and Hazel to pose for photographs always has interesting results. So these photos were originally taken for my dog blog but I decided to share them on here too.

The above photo of Hazel makes me laugh so much, she got all tired and happy while laying in the bluebonnets. And I actually took this next photo of McCoy last year, but it's my favorite photo I've ever taken of him and I've never included it on this blog.

So there are my photos of my dogs in bluebonnets. Maybe I'll make a habit of sharing more photos of my dog on here, but if not I do share them on my dog blog, along with other cool gifs and videos of them - Jessica

Snowy Days

Texas weather is really weird, somedays it can be 20 degrees outside and then the next day the high is the sixties. Texas weather has been so weird this year that school has already been canceled three days, once due to snow and the others were for icy conditions. Usually in Austin we are lucky if it snows once a year, but this was the first time it had "snowed" in two years. Typically we get about an inch of snow making it basically sleet but snow is always fun.

McCoy really liked the snow! As soon as I let him off his leash he was running and sliding everywhere (actual footage of this here).

April Adventures

Hello internet! I don't think I've mentioned it on this blog but my family got a corgi! His name is McCoy and he has his own tumblr. He's adorable but he doesn't really like me... Anyway here are some shots I've taken of him.

The other day I went with my older sister and her boyfriend to the Zilker Botanical Gardern, I hadn't been there since elementary school so it was fun to revisit it. Nature photography isn't really my thing, but I'm a sucker for some bokeh.

The best part was when I forced McCoy to sit on the butterfly bench.

My last orchestra banquet is next Friday and as historian, I have to compile all the photos I've taken and make a slideshow. Hopefully, I'll find the motivation to make a blog post about our adventures within the next week.
