happy holidays!

Hello internet! I'm finally free from school for this semester. It's been a really busy year and I haven't been blogging nearly as much as I wish I would. So here is a little blog post to get you in the holiday spirit. I personally love the holidays, dressing up in warm sweaters, singing Christmas tunes with my ukulele, and always hoping for snow.

Last weekend I went and saw my friend preform in the Nutcracker as Clara! After the show I went kind of crazy with the Christmas decorations.

I was so excited that they brought the Trail of Lights back this year after a two year hiatus. Naturally I had to go on opening day and here is a few cliche, bokeh and slow exposure, pictures from the trail, because you can't help but stand under a Christmas tree of lights and now spin around.

Yesterday I went ice skating with one of my friends since we didn't have to go to school - the perks of being a senior. It was the first time I've been ice skating in about 4 years and I had a blast. I even sung "White Christmas" while doing so, wink-wink if you understand that reference. I already want to go ice skating again.

Untitled

Hello internet! It's been a few weeks since I've last posted. Whoever said that senior year was easy lied. I've been so busy with school, work and college apps. The process for applying to colleges is so scary and complicated and waiting for responses is incredibly anxious. In a few months those will all be over and I can focus more on blogging the pictures I've taken over past month and a half.

color filters

Two blog posts in two days, I am on a roll. Last week Photojojo had a huge sale, and I splurged. One of the things I got were the Color Lens and Flash Filters, you can also get them on Amazon as well or just google kola filters.

I am in love with these filters. I feel like there are so many ways to use these filters and I only brushed the surface with these photos. I also love the face that none of these photos required Photoshop, and I can't wait to experiment more with these filters.

senior portraits

A couple of weeks ago I took my friend, Shelby's senior portraits. I used a borrowed 50mm lens (I really want one for myself, but money.) We went to the park around noon, a terrible time to take photos. There are tons of shadows one these pictures, but I'm really happy with the results, even though I feel out of touch with my editing skills.

Shelby and I had seen tons of other people's senior portraits, and we wanted to break away from the cliche. I've seen way to many pictures of girls floating on water and posing in fields, so I really wanted a more natural approach.

blogging

Hello internet! I recently decided that the best way to document my photography was through a blog. I've dabbled with livejournal and extremely attached to my tumblr, so I thought I would try and blogger. And here I am. Expect a photo post soon :)
